The Railway Lodge was a lovely, clean and friendly place to stay while I was recently in Donegal for two days and nights. Very friendly and attentive host with delicious breakfast. The en-suite room was warm, comfortable, and quiet and had refreshments including tea/coffee facilities and biscuits. It was the same price but much much nicer than the place I stayed in Sligo later that week. I would definitely stay again!

Up in Donegal Town for a wedding on the 17th March and we stayed in the Railway Lodge Guesthouse. On arrival we were greeted warmly by the lovely Sheila who after showing us to our room ordered us a taxi to get us to the wedding reception. On our return we had a lovely nights sleep in the comfy bed and an excellent cooked breakfast the next morning. For the little time we were there Sheila and her daughter looked after us well. Great value for the money and would highly recommend this b&b to anyone.

I had a very nice stay in Sheila's B&B. The room was very clean, cosy and welcoming - wifi, tv, tea and coffee. Sheila is a great host, friendly and kind. Familiar atmosphere. Breakfast is richly and well. Walking distance to town centre is 5 minutes. I absolutely recommend Sheila's Railway Lodge!

I stayed in the railway, coming from Liverpool for a family wedding. The weekend in Donegal was magical, made even more special by the fabulous stay at this B and B! Sheila couldn't have made us feel more welcome! She was friendly and funny and was quick to offer us help with anything we needed. The rooms were spotless and really quaint and homely. Breakfast was prompt and always served with a smile. Will definitely be booking to stay here again on our inevitable return to Donegal!

My finance and I spent 2 night at the Railway Lodge Guest house at the start of July, after his parents highly recommended it after returning on there annual trip to Donegal town. We received a warm welcome, the bedroom was spotless and very comfortable, with a great selection of leaflets to help you plan your day. To top it all off the breakfast in the morning was the best we have had and lasted us nearly all day.

The Railway Lodge Guesthouse is a B&B and not a hotel. We received a very warm and friendly welcome, always enjoyed a good breakfast and had a wonderful stay. The Lodge can certainly be recommended. It is a few minutes walk to the centre of town and to the bus connections for various other interesting sights and towns

We stayed for one night at the Railway Lodge as we had a family wedding reception in the Millpark hotel. We checked in after our meal was over and the lady of the house gave us our key. We arrived back at three in the morn let ourselves in . She gave us a double room downstairs which was great instead of climbing stairs. We enjoyed our breakfast with plenty to eat. We would gladly stay there again, & would recommend it to anyone. Sheila speaks to everyone comes to her house.

very disappointed i booked through your company and paid deposit for a birthday present printed off reservation details and put it in card and posted it only to be informed by email that they were fully booked and couldnt accomodate me. I had to then tell person receiving gift that im sorry you can go now .Very annoyed i contacted owner to be told they were booked because of bridge convention and shes sorry she will post my deposit out .This was really unacceptable and i will not be using your booking website again and shall inform my friends and family on facebook not to either!!!

More than pleased with this ideally-located B&B in the heart of my home town, Donegal. Nice walk over the River Eske past Donegal Castle into the town centre ('The Diamond'). Travelled with two pensioners who were easily able to walk the distances around town and were facilitated with a ground-floor room.

Railway Lodge is a really nice guesthouse and it is very close to the center of Donegal. The host couple are very friendly. My room was confortable and the bathroom cleaned. It was pleasant though brief. I think I'll go again when I'll return to Donegal.

In spite of not getting the twin room requested at time of of booking we were delighted with the service we received and appreciated the 8-mile round trip that was made to deliver our key so we could enjoy the rest of the wedding we were attending. We had telephoned to check last time for check-in. :-)

Nice little guesthouse (so no restaurant or bar), friendly people and good breakfast. Perhaps a little signpost on the Diamant in the middle of town (where the buses arrive) would be practical, because it is not instantly obvious where to go.

A warm and friendly greeting. The breakfast was always filling at set me up for the day perfectly. I will be returning on my next visit to Donegal.

Our hostess was most hospitable. She was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful in giving suggestions, directions, and assistance when we experienced a personal problem. I would recommend this B&B to others and I would stay there again myself. There was no bar or restaurent available. The property was out of the way but within walking distance of everything.

We had a terrific time in Donegal Town, we were made very welcome at Railway Lodge Guesthouse. Our hostess was extremely friendly and well presented. Our breakfast was brilliant, although we were a bit worse for wear from the party the previous night. If we are ever back in Donegal Town we will definitely stay at Railway Lodge Guesthouse.

We had a very plesant stay thanks to the location and the very friendly landlady.

I was so impressed with Sheila, a lovely woman, very friendly, and a great help to me. My rental car had road marks on it and I didn't know if they were scratches or permanent damage to the paint. Sheila had a tube of cleaner and helped me rub out all of the marks! Most importantly, the facility was clean and right in town, handy for walking around.

Very friendly meeting and greeting. Lady of the house went out of her way to facilitate us the next morning. Comfortable. We were at the top of the house so lots of stairs to climb. Overall very satisfied and very good value for money. Would return.

Really enjoyed my stay at the railway lodge guesthouse. Really good value for money. Was made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was good Rooms were big and spacious and kept clean. Guesthouse is very close to town centre and all local amenities. I would recomend this guesthouse and hope to return in the future.

(No bar and restaurant available so no mark given) Lovely little guest house, very handy to centre of town. Very friendly and welcoming host, with relaxed rules on late check in etc. Bed was perhaps a little uncomfortable although after travelling all day this didn't really detract from a good night's sleep. Excellent breakfast and great value for money. WOuld use again and recommend to anyone.

The host was very welcoming. There was a problem with our reservation but that didn't matter. The shower was very low in pressure and had a hard time getting warm. Though we found that was a common problem in rural Ireland. Breakfast was great and to host very chatty and nice.

We appriciate the full Irish breakfast but would like an alternative choice like yoghurt and fruitsallad. ES

Guesthouse was a good value for the price; our room was modest but immaculate and with a nice view across the town toward an old church. Breakfast was tasty and the proprietor very friendly and accomodating without being intrusive. We would stay again.

Sheila and her husband are a lot of fun. It would have been nice to have a few extra towels and the shower stall could have the mold scrubbed but we had a grand time at the Railway Lodge.

Had a very nice stay at Railway lodge. The landlady was very welcoming and was very nice and chatty. Decor was a bit dated in places but was very clean and homely. Very good Irish breakfast too with delicious soda bread.
